Continued Cool and Showery

The weather Monday and Tuesday will be very similar to how it was on Sunday in the Finger Lakes.

After some sun in the morning, showers and some thunderstorms will start to develop by the late morning and midday hours today.

Once the storms begin to fire, the rain and sun will trade on and off throughout the afternoon before showers begin to dissipate during the evening.

Most of the storms will be brief and not too problematic, but a little small hail or some gusty winds will be possible again today.

On Tuesday, the showers may start earlier in the morning, developing by 8 or 9 am. On and off rain will persist through the day and into the evening.

All of this is being triggered by a slow moving area of low pressure over Canada. Not only will this low keep the Finger Lakes showery, but cool as well.

Temperatures on Monday will push into the upper 60s, but most areas on Tuesday will only reach the mid 60s.

Briefly Quiet Before Late Week System

On Wednesday, the Finger Lakes will enjoy a break in the weather before the next system moves in.

High pressure will nose in from the south, bringing a sunny day with no preciptiation.

Temperatures will get a small boost as well, topping out in the low 70s,

The nice weather will be short lived. A new storm will spread warmer air into the region starting Thursday, but at the cost of widespread rain and thunder and a return to high humidity.

In fact, the air mass headed our way late this week may end up being rather similar to what we had last week with dew points heading towards 70 degrees.

Scattered showers and storms will be possible on Friday and Saturday as well as temperatures climb back into the 80s.
