A warm front, followed by a cold front, will move through the Finger Lakes today, Saturday.
The passing of the warm front will allow the atmosphere to become better suited for storms, while the cold front will act as the triggering mechanism.
There are other variables in the atmosphere working against storm development, though, so this is not expected to be a major event.
The best chance for scattered showers and storms will be between 2-6 PM over the southeastern half of the region.
Any storms that pop up could have some strong wind gusts, but wind damage should be sporadic.
Brief downpours will also be possible, but the flooding risk looks minimal with the scattered nature and steady movement of the storms. Multiple storms hitting the same location also seems unlikely.
Unless things significantly ramp up, which is unlikely, this will be my only manual update today. However, the automated warning system will post any severe weather or flood warnings to this Weather Updates section, so be sure to check back if the weather starts to turn for your area.

I personally say Thank you!
Several graduation receptions and a wedding anniversary – outdoors- so I appreciate your insight!
Iโm from Ulysses (Trumansburg) , but one of the receptions is in Ithacaโฆ then back out to T-burg for the second receptionโฆ then over to Taughannock for the wedding anniversary.
So thanks again for this map!!
I look at it often.
