With Thursday’s cold front now well east of the Finger Lakes, cooler, much more comfortable air is settling into place and should persist through the weekend.

A cold front moved through the Finger Lakes on  Thursday with some areas of heavy rain. Behind the front, much more comfortable air is settling in.

Temperatures Friday morning are starting out in the upper 50s and low 60s with some areas of patchy fog. Some clouds are lingering across the region as well.

During the daytime hours today, temperatures should rise into the low 70s for most of the Finger Lakes. Dewpoints, which themselves had been in the low 70s the past few days, will remain in the 50s. This drastic drop in dewpoint will make it feel much, much less humid.

The sun should be out from time to time today as dry air continues to work in.

Temperatures tonight should again drop back into the 50s, with highs on Saturday again reaching the low 70s. Like today, clouds will mix in with the sun for a day that is neither totally cloudy nor totally sunny.

Sunday will have some clouds as well, but I think it will end up with more sunshine than either Friday or Saturday. The temperatures will be warmer, too, with highs pushing back towards 80º.

Temperatures most of next week will likely be in the 70s. There will be a few chances for some rain, but it does not look like there will be any major weather systems to cause us too much trouble.
