Evening Weather Forecast: February 17 transcript

This is Finger Lakes Weather meteorologist Drew Montreuil with your Friday evening weather forecast update for February 17th, 2017.

High pressure continues to work its way across the Finger Lakes this evening, turning the constant northwest wind of the past few days into a gentle southerly breeze. That wind shift will have a profound impact on our weather over the next 24 hours, as we jump from mid-winter to early spring.

For tonight, expect some clouds to periodically drift through as warmer air works in aloft. Temperatures at the surface will back into the 20s this evening before rising back into the 30s by dawn Saturday.

Saturday will turn out partly cloudy and very warm, with most places seeing at least 50 degrees, and some of the typically warmer areas pushing into the upper 50s. Sunny skies will stick with us through Sunday and Monday, but temperatures will fall back into the 40s and then 30s respectively.

Enjoy the break in the weather and have a wonderful weekend!
