Evening Weather Forecast: March 1 transcript

This is Finger Lakes Weather meteorologist Drew Montreuil with your Wednesday evening weather forecast update for March 1st, 2017.

Rain has had a difficult time settling into the Finger Lakes today with just some isolated showers moving through from time to time. That trend will continue this evening, with just a little light rain expected along a cold front.

The wind will continue to be strong though, with frequent gusts over 40 mph possible. That wind will bring cold air in behind that front after it pushes through this evening. Over the course of a couple hours tonight, the temperature will drop from around 50 to the upper 30s.

Some snow showers will then work in, mostly between 2 and 6 am. No more than a coating of snow is expected. Thursday will be blustery, with a few more snow showers early on and then some sun late. Temperatures will reach the low and mid 30s, but the wind chill will make it feel more like the teens and 20s.

Enjoy the last few hours of mild weather this evening and have a good night!
