Sunshine Returns
After a small disturbance brings a couple early morning showers, most of the rest of the day should end up rather pleasant.
These early morning showers are mostly over the eastern Finger Lakes and are developing as a small wind shift cross Lake Ontario. They should move out of the region before 9 am.
One or two other small, brief showers may pop up during the late afternoon, but for the most part, the remainder of the day will be nice.
A good deal of sunshine is expected with just some fair weather clouds. Winds will be breezy, but not as strong as recent days with a few west or northwest gusts around 25 mph.
High temperatures will top out in the mid 70s with evening temperatures dropping back into the 60s.
Friday will also be quite sunny with no rain expected. Temperatures will warm to near 80 degrees as winds turn more south and southwesterly.
Some sun will also be possible into the weekend, but some clouds will also work in along with a couple of on and off showers. Some places will not see any rain this weekend.
Hot Spell Early Next Week
Southwest winds will continue to push hot and humid air towards the Finger Lakes, and by early next week, it will feel like mid-summer once again.
Temperatures on Sunday should push into the mid 80s with a few upper 80s starting to show up on Monday.
Tuesday is looking like the hottest day of the week at this point, with many places near or above 90 degrees.
With dewpoints near or above 70 degrees, the heat index will likely rise into the mid and upper 90s.
Some scattered showers and storms may keep temperatures a bit lower on Wednesday before more seasonable temperatures in the 70s end the week.
