The week ahead will have some much needed quieter, drier weather. A little snow will fly early in the week, with some light rain Friday night. Otherwise, skies are expected to be sunny with temperatures gradually increasing from a chilly start to the week.

Monday

What: A few snow showers

Impacts: None

Monday will be cloudy, cool, and a bit breezy. Some occasional snow showers will be possible, especially at the beginning and end of the day. Individual snow showers should be brief with no accumulation other than a light coating on cool surfaces. Northwest winds will be breezy this morning with a gradual weakening trend this afternoon. Afternoon highs will generally be around 40 degrees. Scattered snow showers will continue tonight with a low around 30 degrees and light winds.

Tuesday

What: Early snow

Impacts: Locally up to an inch or so

A small weather system will pass through early Tuesday with an uptick in snow showers. Some of these may briefly be heavier with some reduced visibility and minor accumulations. Most roadways should stay mainly just wet. Snow showers will diminish later in the morning. Skies will remain rather cloudy until they break up late in the day and early in the evening. Clear skies are expected overnight. Afternoon highs will be in the low 30s with overnight lows in the low 20s. Winds will be a bit gusty early, then diminishing, coming from the northwest and north.

Wednesday

What: Sunny

High pressure will take over and be in full control of the weather on Wednesday. Expect mostly clear skies throughout the day. Winds will be nearly calm early on, but will turn lightly to the south during the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the mid 40s during the afternoon, then fall back to the upper 30s overnight.

Thursday

What: Another sunny day. Some thin clouds.

While some thin clouds will make it so the sky is not a solid dome of blue like on Wednesday, there will still be ample sunshine throughout the day. Southerly winds will be stronger, possibly over 15 mph at times with gusts of 30-40 mph. The wind will help push temperatures into the mid 50s. Winds will decrease Thursday night with lows in the 40s.

Friday

What: Sun, clouds, late showers

Friday will have a further increase in clouds, but still some sunshine as well, especially early. Scattered rain showers will move in late in the day and continue Friday night. This rain looks light with most models showing less than a quarter of an inch of rainfall. Light south winds will blow throughout the day, tacking on another ten degrees to the highs, resulting in mid 60s. Nighttime temperatures will drop to the low 40s as the rain ends and winds turn to the northwest.

Weekend Weather & Beyond

Saturday will start with a few clouds, then turn sunny. Sunday will be the reverse, starting sunny and ending with a few clouds. Neither day is expected to have rain at this point. Temperatures will take a small dip on Saturday with highs in the low 50s. Sunday should rebound back into the 60s.

There will be a higher chance for rain next week, including the possibility for some thunderstorms. Temperatures should be quite warm for much of the week, but a bit cooler toward the end of the week.
