An area of rain showers will pass through the Finger Lakes on Tuesday, focusing on the late morning and early afternoon hours, but with a few stray showers lingering into the night. Gusty south winds will blow, but temperatures will mainly stick to the 50s. Winds will weaken late in the day and for the nighttime.

Scattered showers late for areas west of Seneca Lake.

Temperatures becoming uniform in the mid 50s.

Midday (11 AM-1 PM)

Cloudy.

Scattered showers.

South winds 15-20 mph, gusts to 35 mph.

Temperatures mainly in the mid 50s, but rising to near 60 around Syracuse and Rochester.

Afternoon (1-5 PM)

Mostly cloudy.

Scattered showers, especially over the eastern half of the region during the first half of the afternoon.

South winds 15-20 mph, gusts to 35 mph.

Temperatures in the mid and upper 50s with low and mid 60s around Rochester and Dansville.

Late Afternoon (5-7 PM)

Mostly cloudy with a few breaks.

Maybe a stray shower.

South winds around 15 mph.

Temperatures mainly in the mid 50s with low 60s around Rochester and Dansville.

Evening (7-10 PM)

Mostly cloudy.

Maybe a stray shower.

South winds around 10 mph.

Temperatures falling to the 50-55 degrees range.

Overnight (11 PM-3 AM)

Mostly cloudy.

A couple showers.

South winds around 5 mph.

Temperatures ranging from the mid 50s in the northwest to the mid 40s in the southeast.
