North winds wrapping around the coastal low will be breezy or a bit blustery this weekend.

Friday

Friday looks mostly sunny for most of the day. A few thin clouds may start to sneak in late, but this is more likely to happen after sunset or even after midnight. . Afternoon highs will be in the mid and upper 60s. A few urban areas could make it to 70 degrees. Overnight lows will be warmer, with a few upper 40s, but more areas near or a bit above 50 degrees. Winds will be from the north at 5-10 mph most of the day, but may go over 10 mph for the late afternoon.
Saturday
What: Gradually increasing clouds
Saturday should start with quite a bit of sunshine, though some thin clouds will likely be mixing in. This may persist into the afternoon, but clouds should eventually increase and thicken. North winds will blow at around or slightly over 10 mph. Highs will mainly be in the mid and upper 60s. Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the mid 50s. A few nighttime showers in the eastern parts of the region cannot be ruled out.
Sunday
What: Scattered showers
On Sunday, low pressure off the Mid-Atlantic coast will begin to track back toward the west, approaching the coast of New Jersey. As this happens, bands of rain will move into the Finger Lakes from the east. The rain should lose its intensity and organization as it moves in, but there could be some periods where the rain falls steady for an hour or so, especially in the east. On and off periods of rain will continue into the nighttime hours. Most areas should see less than a half inch of rainfall, with higher amounts to the east compared to the west.
Temperatures Sunday should be in the low to locally mid 60s. North winds will be 10-15 mph with gusts of 25-30 mph. Nighttime temperatures will be in the mid 50s with showers continuing.
Monday
What: A few showers
The coastal low will be pulling away from the region on Monday. A few showers will still likely linger, but should be light and sporadic. There may be some sunshine later in the day. North winds will remain, but may turn toward the northwest late in the day. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph. Temperatures will remain steady, with highs in the mid 60s and nighttime temperatures in the mid 50s.
Tuesday
What: Mostly cloudy
Tuesday’s forecast continues to trend cloudier, but rain is still not expected. The best chance for some sunshine will come late in the day. Temperatures will rebound, returning to the upper 60s with light northwest winds. Nighttime temperatures will remain in the mid 50s.
Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds
Mixed skies are the best bet for next Wednesday at this point. Temperatures should continue to warm with highs in the low 70s as a light south wind develops.
Thursday
What: Sun and clouds. Late rain.
A cold front will approach the area on Thursday, resulting in a band of rain late in the day. Timing is, of course, highly uncertain at this point and subject to change. As long as the front moves in late, there is a chance for highs to reach the mid 70s.
Late Next Week
Rain chances appear to increase next weekend as another weather system passes through. Temperatures will probably remain mild to warm until this second system passes. Behind it, chilly air looks possible for early the following week with highs possibly in the 50s.
