Friday will start out with dry weather through the morning, midday and early afternoon. Skies will be rather cloudy overall, but there may be some gaps of sunshine, especially in the morning. A few showers will start to develop by the late afternoon, with a gradual increase in coverage through the evening and especially into the overnight. Temperatures will remain mild, though not as warm as the last two days, with highs in the low and mid 60s. Winds will be steady, but light, gradually turning from the south to the west and then northwest.

Temperatures near or slightly above 50 degrees, except across the Southern Tier into Cortland County, where upper 40s are more likely.

Temperatures rise to the mid and upper 50s.
Midday (11 AM-1 PM)
Mixed skies.
No precipitation is expected.
Southwest winds 5-10 mph.
Temperatures in the low and locally mid 60s.
Afternoon (1-4 PM)
Becoming mostly cloudy.
A few stray showers late.
West winds 5-10 mph.
Temperatures in the low and mid 60s.
Late Afternoon (4-6 PM)
Mostly cloudy.
A few scattered showers.
Northwest and north winds around 5 mph.
Temperatures dropping to the mid 50s.
Evening (6-11 PM)
Cloudy.
Scattered showers becoming more common.
Northwest and north winds around 5 mph early, increasing closer to 10 mph late.
Temperatures mainly in the low 50s.
