As rain and thunderstorms continue to move north, the atmosphere is less supportive of severe weather.
As such, there are no severe thunderstorm warnings currently and the severe threat across the area is probably waning.
That being said, eastern Cortland County is still seeing some strong storms moving northward. An additional warning in northeastern Cortland and southeastern Onondaga isn’t out of the question, though the chances are fairly low.
The greater concern is several areas of nearly stationary heavy rain. Southeastern Cayuga County north along the Cayuga/Onondaga county line in particular has an area of heavy rain that is not moving. Additional nearly stationary cells exist near the southern border of Seneca County.
These will be the areas to watch over the next hour for the greatest threat of flooding.
A Flash Flood Warning also remains in effect for most of Tioga County.
