Finger Lakes Weather needs basic weather images for a new project. Can you help out by sending with some weather photos?
Finger Lakes Weather needs basic weather images for a new project. Can you help out by sending with some weather photos?

In my continuing mission to deliver the best weather information to the Finger Lakes, I have in the works a new daily forecast graphic.

I believe that this graphic will greatly enhance the usability and clarity of my forecasts by giving a consistent and concrete format. This new graphic will have a wealth of weather information available for a 48 hour period and is designed to be adequate as a one-stop-shop for all your weather needs.

Part of this new graphic will be a background image the represents the forecast. Rather than scour the internet for public-domain images of the weather from various parts of the world, I would love to have images of the weather from the Finger Lakes.

If you have any weather photos, I would love to consider them for this new project. I will need photos for all weather types, from bright blue skies, to blinding snowstorms and severe thunderstorms. These photos do not need to be fancy or ‘expert’ quality- all I need are some basic images.

Photos should be focused on the weather, but some buildings and vehicles may also be in the image. No images that directly show people, please. Images must be at least 640px wide by 335 px tall. Chosen images will be cropped to those dimensions, but please do not crop your images ahead of time.

Please send your photos to the email listed in the graphic above, or upload them to the Finger Lakes Weather Facebook page.

Please note that by submitting photos, you are granting Finger Lakes Weather full usage rights, including use without credit, for this and future projects. Submitting a photo does not guarantee that it will be used for this project, but all photos will be saved for possible future use.

Thank you for your support of Finger Lakes Weather!
