A plume of warmer, humid air is moving into the Finger Lakes region today. Dewpoints will rise well into the 60s with afternoon highs generally in the mid 70s.
With this new air mass pushing in, clouds have become widespread across the region and waves of scattered showers are passing through. This will continue throughout the day today, with showers especially coming and going across the southern half of the region. Winds will be light and variable.
Stray showers will persist tonight, possibly becoming more widespread after midnight and into the predawn hours. Overnight lows will generally be in the mid 60s.
Thursday
What: Scattered showers.
There will be two main periods for rain on Thursday: one early in the morning as leftovers from tonight continue to pass through, and the other in the mid to late afternoon as new development takes place. A few rumbles of thunder and some brief downpours are possible, particularly with the morning activity. Dewpoints will be in the upper 60s to near 70, so it will continue to feel quite humid. Afternoon highs will again be in the mid 70s. Winds will continue to be light and variable before a northwesterly wind becomes established Thursday night. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s.
Friday
What: Sun and clouds.
Friday looks dry and sunny with a few fair weather clouds. Winds will be breezy out of the north at around 10 mph, removing the humidity and bringing cooler air in. Highs will be in the upper 60s and low 70s. Overnight lows will then fall to the upper 40s and low 50s.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds. A late shower.
At this time, Saturday morning looks dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Saturday afternoon may see an increase in clouds and a few stray showers late, with an increased chance for showers after sunset and through the overnight. Winds will be light from the east, holding afternoon highs generally in the mid 60s.
Sunday
What: Scattered showers
Scattered showers will be a bit more likely on Sunday, particularly during the morning hours. Some sun may work its way out in the afternoon and the day could end with a mostly dry afternoon. There is some uncertainty, though, and the day could end up rainier than described here. Wind direction is uncertain as a frontal boundary passes through, but wind speeds should be light. Highs will most likely remain in the mid 60s.
Monday

Rain looks possible on Monday, though the details are unclear this far in advance. Some models bring in heavy rainfall amounts, so it will be something to watch over the coming days. Others keep the day mostly dry with the rain nearby, but not overhead. Temperatures will likely remain cool in the 60s.

Tuesday also has uncertain rain chances as the same weather system remains in the general region.
