Halloween is upon us, and thankfully, it does not look like Mother Nature has any tricks up her sleeves this year.
The storm system that has been buffeting the Finger Lakes with rain and wind the last few days will pull away on Friday, leaving the region dry with some late day sun. It will still be a bit breezy Friday afternoon, but that wind should die off as the sun sets.
For any towns holding Trick-or-Treating on Friday evening, it will be partly cloudy but chilly, as temperatures drop from the low 40s into the upper 30s. Temperatures will continue to drop overnight, with morning lows Saturday in the low and mid 30s.
Saturday afternoon looks just fine for trick-or-treating, with mostly cloud skies and temperatures around 50 degrees expected. The temperature will not drop too far Saturday evening, with most areas in the mid 40s. No precipitation is expected until after midnight on Saturday night.
Also, do not forget to set your clocks back one hour and change your smoke alarm batteries, as Daylight Savings Time comes to an end Saturday night.
And while the weather won’t have any treats for the Finger Lakes on Halloween, it will have quite a treat for us next week. Temperatures should climb into the 60s on Monday and remain there most of the week. Along with the warm temperatures should be ample sunshine and dry, rain-free weather.
