A Few More Showers
Generally speaking, most of the next couple of days should be nice across the Finger Lakes.
However, there will be a couple of periods where some scattered showers will be possible.
These showers will be in response to the slowly departing storm system that has brought precipitation to the Finger Lakes the last few days.
The best chance for some scattered showers will be during the mid and late afternoon hours today, continuing into the early evening. A few showers will be possible outside of this time frame as well, especially Tuesday morning.
The overall chances for rain are even less on Wednesday than they are today. By Wednesday evening, the storm system should be far enough away that the rain chances will come to an end.
Temperatures will mostly be in the low and mid 70s Tuesday and Wednesday with overnight temperatures falling back into the 50s.
Late Week Rain
Rain will become more prevelent once again later in the week as the next storm system moves in.
There are two main periods when rain will be likely across the Finger Lakes.
First, a widespread area of light to moderate rain should move in from the northwest during the late afternoon hours on Thursday.
The latest data on this rain indicates that it may be weakening as it moves in, so areas further southeast may see less rain than locations further north and west.
Scattered showers will continue to be possible through Thursday night and Friday morning. During the afternoon Friday, showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread. Thunderstorms should continue into the evening hours.
The atmosphere will be very moist on Friday, resulting in the potential for some torrential downpours.
Weekend Dries Out
At this time, the weekend is looking rather nice.
Saturday is looking quite sunny. There will be a slight chance for a shower Sunday with a better chance for rain and thunder towards Monday morning.
The forecast for Sunday will have to be monitored, as it is still far enough away that the rain Sunday night could end up arriving sooner.
Temperatures will continue to hover around normal, with generally 70s for highs.
