Cooler weather sweeps into the Finger Lakes

finger lakes weather forecast below normal temperatures
Below normal temperatures will persist through the weekend across the Finger Lakes.

Much Cooler Weather Settles In

A strong cold front moved through the Finger Lakes last night, sweeping away the warm, humid air and replacing it with below normal temperatures.

Temperatures this morning are mostly starting in the 50s to near 60 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds.

As the morning goes on, the clouds should become more numerous, leading to a mostly cloudy afternoon. Some breaks of sun will manage to work out here and there between the cumulus clouds.

A brief, spotty shower cannot be ruled out, especially between 4-9 pm. However, the majority of the area should stay dry.

The wind will be a bit breezy, especially this afternoon. Look for peak wind gusts between 20-30 mph.

Temperatures will manage to get above 70 degrees, with most places reaching the low 70s this afternoon. Temperatures this evening will slip back into the 50s.

High temperatures will likely fail to reach 70 degrees again until Saturday, with upper 60s both Thursday and Friday. A few scattered showers are expected both days.

A Bit Nicer for the Weekend, Next Week

The weather will get nicer this weekend as temperatures climb slightly.

Highs on Saturday should be around 70 degrees, while Sunday will rise into the low 70s.

Both days are expected to be rather sunny and no precipitation is expected at this time.

The trend of dry weather will persist into next week. In fact, the only precipitation expected at this point will be from a front towards the middle of the week. It is far too early to tell how much rain may fall, though.

Temperatures will continue to slowly climb back towards normal. By the middle of the week, highs should return to the mid 70s.
