Quick Forecast
The week ahead will be characterized by steadily cool temperatures, with most days not escaping the 40s.
A cold front will move through this evening, bringing showers to the area after a cloudy but mainly quiet day with just a few stray spits of rain.
Today will be the warmest day of the week with highs in the mid and upper 50s.
Gusty northwest winds will set up tonight behind the front, leading to some morning lake effect clouds and a few lingering spits of precipitation. Most of this will be rain, but some snowflakes will be possible, especially in and around Cortland County.
Tuesday will start with temperatures in the low and mid 30s and highs will be about 10 degrees warmer. Clouds will dissipate in the afternoon. Winds will be blustery, with gusts over 30 mph through the early afternoon, then slowly lessening.
Tuesday night will be the coldest night so far this season, with most areas in the low and mid 20s. I would not at all be surprised to see some 10s in the typically colder pockets.
Wednesday will be sunny with light winds and highs in the mid 40s. Increasing clouds Wednesday evening and night will keep temperatures a bit warmer overnight with upper 20s and low 30s.
Thursday will be overcast but with some sun filtering through. Highs will remain in the mid 40s.
The weather is less certain Friday into the weekend, but at this point looks dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will remain in the 40s on Friday but may start to creep to and above 50 degrees this weekend.
I want to wish all Veterans a very blessed day today. Thank you for your service! You are greatly appreciated.
