Wet and Cool
A pair of nearly stationary low pressures will continue to impact our weather for the next few days, though conditions should improve quite a bit by Memorial Day on Monday.
The weaker of the two lows is situated over Lake Ontario and will be the primary driver of our weather.
Another batch of widespread rain is developing early Friday morning over the area and will creep northeastward through the morning.
Frequent, if not steady, rain is expected throughout the day, especially for areas near and north of a rough line from Binghamton to Ithaca to Rochester.
Many of these areas may see the rain persist into the evening as well, and the rain may even pivot back toward the south further before the rain starts to break up.
Some areas, particularly across Onondaga, Cayuga, and Wayne counties, may see an additional half to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall by Saturday morning.
Winds will be westerly today and strongest west of Canandaigua Lake. Here, speeds will be over 15 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Lighter winds will be found further east.
Temperatures will really struggle today, only rising a handful of degrees. Some higher elevations will not escape the upper 40s, while the warmest pockets may just get above the low 50s. Overnight temperatures will once again be in the mid 40s.
Rain showers should decrease in coverage through Saturday morning, only to pick back up again during the latter half of the afternoon. A rumble of thunder or some small hail cannot be totally ruled out, but no severe weather is expected.
Highs on Saturday should reach the mid 50s with another night of mid 40s following.
Sunday may undergo a somewhat similar pattern, with limited rain in the morning with scattered showers, and perhaps a rumble of thunder in the afternoon.
Temperatures will start to warm with many areas near or slightly above 60 degrees thanks to some breaks of sun through the first part of the day.

Weather Starts to Improve
Monday, Memorial Day, will be the first day where the weather is notably less active.
Showers will still be possible but will be limited to a few stray spits of rain here or there.
Sunshine will be more common than rain, though it will mix with plenty of clouds, too.
Winds will be light from the north and northwest, but the mere fact that it will not be overcast and raining will give temperatures a boost into the mid 60s.
Tuesday looks dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be nearly calm, which could lead to a few cool pockets early in the morning, but frost is unlikely to be a concern. Afternoon highs will rebound to around 70 degrees.
Wednesday is less certain but trending dry with clouds and some sun. If it stays dry with at least partial sunshine, temperatures should be near 70 degrees again.
Scattered showers are likely on Thursday and possibly into Friday, but this does not look like another prolonged or heavy rain event.
Temperatures will probably take a small dip back into the 60s as this system passes through, but should bounce back quickly next weekend
Highs in the 70s are favored for the first week of June, with scattered but uncertain chances for showers and thunderstorms.
