Moisture on the back side of Sunday’s low pressure system, combined with extra support from the Great Lakes, will lead to snow showers only slowly tapering off across the region. Winds will increase Monday afternoon causing some areas of blowing and drifting while temperatures also remain cold.

Snow accumulations will be an inch or two for most areas, but locally more across the northern half of the region. Wayne, northern Cayuga, and Onondaga counties in particular may see 3-6 inches through the day.

Road conditions will still be rather poor this morning but should gradually improve over the course of the day as the snow tapers off. Areas prone to blowing and drifting will remain messy through the afternoon. Continue to heed the directives and advice of local officials.
