The first half of the week will be marked by very warm weather. Following a cold front on Wednesday, cool air will be quick to take back over with some snow showers passing through on Friday.

Monday

What: Sunny, warm

Impacts: Localized increased brush fire risk

After mixing with a few morning clouds, sunshine will dominate the afternoon. Steady southwest winds will help drive temperatures into the 60s. The air will be much drier than recent days with afternoon relative humidity values between 25-35%. Clear skies are expected tonight with temperatures backing into the 40s.

Tuesday

What: Still warm; Cloudier with a few late showers

Tuesday will start with sunshine, but clouds will mix in and increase. A few scattered showers will be possible in the afternoon. Not all areas will see rain, and those that do should see minor amounts. Winds will be much lighter than on Monday, but still southerly. Afternoon highs will again reach well into the 60s. Overnight lows will stay in the 50s.

Wednesday

What: Morning showers, afternoon rain

Impacts: Watching the potential for thunderstorms

Wednesday will be rather cloudy, though some peeks of sun will be possible, especially in the morning. Scattered showers will increase through the day, culminating with an area of widespread rain in the afternoon and perhaps early evening. Some embedded thunderstorms may be possible.

Southerly winds will increase and become breezy with speeds similar to or slightly higher than today. Temperatures will be similar to today and Tuesday, but will start to fall late in the day.

Thursday

What: Sunny, but much cooler

Breezy northwest winds will drop temperatures into the low 30s by Thursday morning. From there, temperatures will only add a degree or two, making Thursday about thirty degrees colder than Monday-Wednesday. With the wind, though, it will feel more like forty degrees colder with wind chills in the 20s. The sun will be out and precipitation is not expected.

Friday

What: A few passing snow showers

Impacts: None

A small weather system will pass through on Friday with a few snow showers. Little to no snow accumulation is expected. Temperatures will remain in the 30s. A period of strong southerly winds will be possible in the afternoon, turning westerly in the evening.

Saturday

What: Quiet and cool

Like Thursday, Saturday looks quiet with no precipitation, a mix of sun and clouds, and highs in the mid 30s. Saturday night, there may be a period of precipitation as some warmer air tries to nose northward.

Sunday

What: Morning flurries, then warmer

Flurries left over from Saturday night may still be around early Sunday. Then, warmer air will move in with highs up into the 40s.

Next Week

Sunday’s warm up will not last with a cold front Sunday night or early Monday sending temperatures down again. Next Tuesday looks particularly chilly with highs possibly only in the 20s. Generally quiet weather is then expected with temperatures moderating to the 35-40 degree range.
