Temperatures will steadily warm the next few days, culminating with highs likely pushing into the 60s on Thursday. A strong cold front late in the day will send temperatures tumbling, with most of Friday sitting in the low 30s and a few snow showers on Saturday.
Tuesday
What: Periods of sun and clouds
Much of the area is starting the day sunny, but some lake effect clouds off the Finger Lakes have some areas overcast. Sunshine will increase this morning, but then clouds will increase this afternoon. No precipitation is expected with highs mostly in the low 40s. For more details on today’s forecast, check the Tuesday Weather Planner post.
Wednesday
What: Clouds, a few late showers
Warmer air will start to move in on Wednesday with afternoon highs around 50 degrees. Skies will be cloudy and a few scattered rain showers will be possible, especially late in the day. Winds will be light from the south, becoming steadier during the night. Temperatures Wednesday night will only drop to the mid 40s.
Thursday
What: Warm, periods of rain
It looks increasingly likely that warm air will move solidly into the area, though colder air will be lurking just to the north. Rain showers will be possible at any time, but will be the most widespread and heaviest during the later afternoon hours and into the nighttime. Temperatures should break into the 60s for many areas, though with a little sunshine, it could turn even warmer. Winds will be a bit blustery at times from the southwest before speeds drop and directions turn more northerly after sunset.

Friday
What: Chilly, but dry
Temperatures will tumble to the low 30s by Friday morning, then remain stuck there throughout the day. Friday afternoon will therefore be 30-35 degrees colder than Thursday afternoon. Winds will be steady from the north, but not too strong. Still, wind chills will likely be in the 20s all day. Sunshine should increase, with clear skies lingering into the night, sending temperatures down to around 20 degrees.
Saturday
What: Flurries
Scattered snow showers are likely on Saturday. Little to no snow accumulation is expected outside of an early day or late day light coating. Temperatures will reach the mid 30s, which should easily melt anything that falls during the daytime hours. A period of blustery northwest winds will be possible during the afternoon.
Sunday & Beyond
Temperatures will start to rise again on Sunday and Monday, possibly reaching the 50s on Monday. Beyond that, the weather models become less certain with a very wide range of possibilities showing. Most likely, temperatures will take at least a small dip toward the middle of the week before rising again. Precipitation looks most likely around Wednesday.
