Cool weather will stick around through Saturday with a few morning snow showers possible. Milder temperatures will return on Sunday and continue increasing early next week. The next chance for meaningful precipitation will not be until Tuesday or Wednesday next week.

Friday

What: Cool and a little breezy.

Morning clouds will give way to sunshine by the afternoon, but temperatures will still be 30-35 degrees colder than yesterday. With the wind, which will be steady but not too strong, it will feel more like the 20s. A chilly night is ahead with lows in the low 20s and a few pockets reaching the 10s.

Saturday

What: A few morning snow showers. Sun and clouds. Breezy.

Impacts: Afternoon wind gusts (NW) of 30-40 mph.

Most of Saturday will have a mix of sun and clouds. During the morning hours, a few scattered snow showers will be possible, especially across the eastern half of the region. A few areas may see a light coating, but anything that sticks will melt within a couple hours. Temperatures will remain chilly with highs similar to Friday in the low 30s. Northwest winds will be breezy during the afternoon with gusts of 30-40 mph. Those winds will turn to the south overnight so that Sunday morning will start out around 30 degrees.

Sunday

What: Clouds, perhaps some filtered sun. Warmer

Steady south and southwest winds will push warmer air back into the area on Sunday, despite some persistent cloud cover. Look for afternoon highs to average around 50 degrees across the region. Some sunshine may be able to filter through some thin spots in the clouds.

Monday

What: Sun and clouds.

Temperatures will continue to rise on Monday as the weather stays quiet. There should be more sun than on Sunday with highs reaching the mid 50s. Winds will be light with varying directions through the day.

Tuesday

What: Morning showers

A warm front will lift through the area Tuesday morning with showers and perhaps a thunderstorm. As long as the front lifts north, the afternoon would turn sunny and dry. The exact timing is a bit uncertain this far in advance, though. Temperatures will easily make it into the 60s as long as the front is not delayed.

Wednesday

What: Turning cooler

A cold front will not be far behind Tuesday’s warm front and should drop south through the region during the day. Rain showers will be likely, and the morning will likely end up warmer than the afternoon. Again, though, the exact timing is uncertain at this point, so it could end up a mostly cooler day, or a mostly warmer one if the front is quicker or delayed.

Late Next Week

The cool dip behind next week’s cold front looks less intense than today’s (Friday) dip or the last several we have had. Highs on Thursday and Friday look to be in the 40s with at least 50s possible again by the weekend. The pattern will continue, with rain associated with the warmer temperatures, followed by another decrease.
