The weather over the next several days, including the weekend, will be split in two by a strong cold front Sunday morning. Warm air will be in place ahead of the front, but temperatures will drop through Sunday, leading to some snow showers Monday and Tuesday.
Friday
Warm air is pushing back into the region on southerly winds. Afternoon highs today will be around 70 degrees. Skies will be mixed, with a few rain showers this morning, mainly in the west, and some more scattered showers and light thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening. Not everyone will see rain today.A front will temporarily move south tonight, allowing temperatures to fall into the low and mid 40s.
Winds will be a bit breezy from the south and southwest today, then turning lighter and from the north tonight.
Saturday
The front from Friday night will come back north Saturday morning, allowing temperatures to rise steadily. While not quite as warm as Friday, highs should still be well into the 60s. A stray shower cannot be ruled out at almost any time, but especially in the morning and later afternoon. A rumble of thunder late cannot be ruled out, either.
Winds will be back to the south, but light until they become blustery in the evening. Temperatures will remain mild overnight.
Sunday
Rain from the cold front will likely push into the area before sunrise on Easter Sunday morning. By the mid to late morning, the bulk of the precipitation should be east of the area. A stray shower or two cannot be ruled out the rest of the day, especially late, but generally it will be dry. Skies will be rather cloudy, but a few breaks of sun may be possible from time to time. West and northwest winds will be blustery, causing temperatures to fall from the 50s early on to the mid 40s during the afternoon.
Monday
Steady northwest winds will be in place for Monday, keeping temperatures around 40 degrees for an afternoon high. Clouds, a little sun, and some stray snow showers are expected. Temperatures will fall back to around 30 degrees Monday night.
Tuesday
A small weather system will bring more widespread snow showers to the area. With highs only reaching the low and mid 30s, some minor accumulation on grassy areas will be possible. Winds will be lighter than on Monday and skies should begin to clear out Tuesday night. This will send temperatures down into the low and mid 20s overnight.
Wednesday
A sunny day of transition as warmer air starts to make inroads back into the region. Despite the chilly start, afternoon highs should be around 50 degrees. South winds will generally be light, but will pick up for the nighttime hours.
Late Next Week & Beyond
Temperatures may be able to get back into the 60s as early as Thursday, though that remains a bit uncertain at this time. Warmer weather will become increasingly possible through next weekend, though another frontal boundary may park itself over the general area, possibly leading to periods of rain showers and fluctuating temperatures.
