Friday will have a few lingering showers early in the day, then a gradual increase in sunny breaks in the clouds from west to east. Some eastern areas may not see much sun until late in the afternoon. Northwest winds will not be too strong with highs around or slightly over 60 degrees for many areas. Skies will clear Friday night with lows in the mid 40s to the south and upper 40s to the north.

Early Morning (3-7 AM)

Mostly cloudy.

A couple stray showers.

Northwest winds 5-10 mph.

Temperatures in the mid 40s.

Morning (7-11 AM)

Mostly cloudy. Some sun in the northwestern FLX.

A couple stray showers early.

Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Temperatures rising to the low 50s, except in the higher elevations of the eastern Finger Lakes, where upper 40s are more likely.

Midday (11 AM-1 PM)

Mostly cloudy. Some sun in the northwestern FLX.

No precipitation expected.

Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Temperatures mostly around 60 degrees. Some low 60s to the northwest, mid 50s in the higher elevations east.

Afternoon (1-5 PM)

Clouds in the east, sun and thin clouds to the west.

No precipitation expected.

Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Temperatures mostly in the low and mid 60s. A few upper 50s in the highest hilltops east.

Late Afternoon (5-7 PM)

Gradually increasing sunshine.

No precipitation expected.

Northwest winds 5-10 mph.

Temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s.

Evening (7-10 PM)

Mostly clear.

No precipitation expected.

Winds turning to the southwest around 5 mph.

Temperatures falling to the low 50s.
