Warm and humid conditions will lead to more pop-up showers and storms Friday and Saturday. A weak cold front Sunday morning will bring a few showers and a brief dip in humidity. More unsettled weather is expected early next week, followed by cooler, less humid conditions but still some chances for rain.

Friday
What: Scattered showers and storms.
All in all, Friday will be a lot like Thursday. Sun and clouds through the morning, followed by another round of showers and storms popping up in the afternoon. While yesterday’s activity was focused mainly over the southeastern Finger Lakes, as expected, today’s activity will spread further west, but still mainly stay over the southern half of the region. This does not mean it will not rain or storm at all to the north, or that everywhere in the south will see rain… only that taking a rough bisection of the region, the southern half is more favored than the north.
Locally heavy downpours and some gusty winds will be possible, but the overall severe and flooding risks are low.
Winds away from any storms will be light with speeds under 5 mph. It will remain warm and humid with highs in the low 80s and dewpoints around 70. Tonight will be partly cloudy with lows again in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees.
Saturday
What: Scattered showers and storms.
Showers and a few thunderstorms will again be possible on Saturday. Overall, the threat for rain looks a bit lower, with the pop-up activity more spread out than Thursday or Friday. There is no particular part of the region that seems more favored than another.
The afternoon will once again be main the time to watch for rain and thunderstorms, but a shower or storm during the late morning or midday cannot be ruled out. Locally heavy downpours will again by the primary concern with any storms.
Warm, muggy conditions will persist with highs in the low 80s and dewpoints near 70. Winds will pick up a bit from the southwest, but will remain under 10 mph. Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with a few showers toward dawn and lows in the upper 60s.
Sunday
What: A few showers early.
Stray showers will be possible on Sunday, mainly during the morning hours as a weak cold front slides through. Not all areas will see rain, and those that do should only see minimal rain amounts. Dewpoints will slowly drop through the day, ending up in the low and mid 60s late. Temperatures will still reach the low 80s with a light northwest breeze. Nighttime temperatures will be a few degrees lower than the preceding days, mainly in the mid 60s.
Monday
What: A few showers and storms.
Some pop-up showers and storms look possible Monday afternoon, mixing with areas of sunshine. Uncertainty remains, however. Afternoon highs will be in the low 80s with dewpoints creeping back up into the upper half of the 60s. Winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph.
Tuesday
What: Showers and storms possible.
The models continue to be inconsistent with Tuesday’s weather, leading to low confidence in the forecast details. However, rain still appears likely in some form or another. Whether that is more of an all day steady affair, scattered thunderstorms, or some morning showers remains to be seen and depends on the location and timing of a passing low pressure system and its cold front.
Temperatures will likely be held to the mid or upper 70s. Humidity will likely remain high unless the cold front moves through early. Winds are highly uncertain at this time.
Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds.
In the wake of Tuesday’s system, Wednesday should be quiet with a mix of sun and clouds and lower humidity. Highs will be in the mid and upper 70s with a light northwest wind.
Thursday
What: A few showers and storms.
While highly uncertain at this time, there may be some unsettled weather returning late next week, possibly by Thursday as some showers and storms. Temperatures should remain in the 70s with dewpoints in the lower 60s. Winds are uncertain.
Next Weekend
Unsettled weather may linger into or favor Friday instead of Thursday. Next weekend remains uncertain, but there are hints that Saturday is more likely to be dry than Sunday. Temperatures will be on the cooler side with highs in the lower half of the 70s. These temperatures will extend well into the following week with generally quieter weather expected.
