A cold front will pass through the area Thursday afternoon, interacting with a warm, muggy air mass to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms. While the main thunderstorm event will be east of the Finger Lakes, some locally strong storms will still be possible, especially east of Seneca Lake. The highest chance for rain will be between about 3-7 PM, though a few spits of rain may also be possible during the morning. Afternoon highs will be 75-80 degrees with mid and upper 60s dewpoints. Precipitation should end and skies should be partly cloudy to clear at times Thursday night for the lunar eclipse [external link]. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s and low 60s.

No precipitation is expected.

Temperatures mostly in the mid and upper 70s.

Areas of sun, areas of clouds.

Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, especially after 3 PM and over the eastern half of the region. A couple storms may be strong.

Temperatures between 75-80 degrees.

Late Afternoon (5-7 PM)

Areas of sun, areas of clouds.

A few scattered showers and lingering thunderstorms, some of which may be strong.

Southwest and west winds 5-10 mph.

Temperatures mainly in the mid 70s.

Partly cloudy to clear at times.

Maybe an early shower.

Southwest and west winds around 5 mph.

Temperatures drop to the mid 60s.

Overnight (11 PM-3 AM)
