Temperatures will start to rise again before sunrise, kicking off a trend that will send us to around 70 degrees by Thursday. A few rain showers are possible Thursday night, but otherwise, dry weather will persist into early next week. The weather looks more active and unsettled later next week.

Tuesday

What: Sun and a few clouds

North winds will make Tuesday the coolest day of the week with most areas seeing a high in the low 50s. Both warmer and cooler pockets are expected based on topography, as usual. Winds will be light with speeds around 5 mph. Skies will be quite sunny most of they day with a few passing thin clouds. Late in the afternoon, the cloud cover will increase and may filter the sunshine a bit. The nighttime hours will be cool with lows ranging through the 30s again. Winds will turn to the southeast before sunrise, which should cause temperatures to start rising before the sun is up.

Wednesday

What: Sun filtered by clouds

Winds will turn to the south once the sun rises Wednesday morning and speeds will increase slightly, still staying under 10 mph. As warmer air pushes in, areas of clouds will pass through, which may filter the sunshine or take over the sky at times. No rain will fall, though. Temperatures should bounce back to the mid 60s, though some cooler air may hold tough in the hills east of Cayuga Lake, where highs could end up closer to 60 degrees. South winds Wednesday night will hold temperatures to the mid and upper 40s across the south with low 50s to the north.

Thursday

What: Sunny, some late clouds

Thursday will see ample sunshine through the morning and into the early afternoon. Some late clouds will build in from the north. Winds will turn to the southwest and blow at up to 10 mph, pushing temperatures to near or even above 70 degrees. The nighttime hours are expected to be cloudy with scattered showers, possibly as early as the hours just after sunset. While some rain is likely, amounts will be minimal and not all areas will end up seeing any. Overnight lows will likely stay in the low 50s.

Friday

What: Sun and clouds

A stray shower lingering from Thursday night cannot be totally ruled out early Friday morning. Most areas will just start with sunshine, which will persist through the day. Winds will turn to the northwest and increase with speeds as high as 15 mph. Temperatures will not be as warm as on Thursday with highs around 60 degrees. Friday night will be slightly cooler than the previous nights with lows in the upper 30s and low 40s.

Saturday- Halloween

What: Sun and a few clouds

The weather is looking like treats, not tricks, for Halloween this year. Skies are expected to be sunny with some thin clouds. Winds will be light and variable or calm, and highs should be in the upper 50s with some low 60s. Evening festivities will enjoy temperatures in the low 50s.

Sunday

What: Sun and a few clouds

Sunday looks much the same as Saturday with a sunny and dry day. Temperatures will be a couple degrees warmer than Saturday with most areas in the low 60s. Sunday night will be mild with lows in the low 50s.

Monday

What: Sun and clouds

Dry weather is expected on Monday, but the amount of sunshine is uncertain as a weather system begins to approach from the west. Southerly flow will continue to warm temperatures with highs in the mid 60s.

Next Week

Rain chances will increase toward the middle of next week with a handful of models showing the possibility for heavy rain. This remains too far out to tell for sure, though. Additional rain chances are likely late in the week as well. Temperatures are highly uncertain with a large range of possibilities showing, based on the varying solutions with the weather systems that will bring our rain chances.
