A cold front will move through the region during the midday hours Friday. A few showers or storms may pop up along the front in the late morning and noontime hours, especially for areas near and east of Cayuga Lake. A couple stray showers or storms may be possible in the afternoon until humidity levels drop late in the day. Temperatures will peak in the mid 80s during the midday. Hot and humid conditions will persist on Thursday with highs in the mid 80s and dewpoints in the 70s. This environment will be suitable for thunderstorm development, but without a feature to trigger storms, it remains very uncertain where, when, and how many, if any, storms may develop. Anything that does form could have strong winds and hail to go with frequent lightning and torrential downpours. Many areas will likely end up dry most or all of the day, though.
