Preliminary: 5 Tornadoes in FLX/WNY Wednesday evening

The National Weather Service offices in Buffalo and Binghamton were busy on Thursday surveying storm damage from around the region.

Not all of the data and analysis is in yet, but 5 tornadoes have been found: 2 in the Finger Lakes and 3 in western NY.

A tornado was confirmed in Waterloo, extending into Seneca Falls. A second, stronger tornado occurred in Fayette, just to the south.

I will have more details and maps later today as the information is released by the National Weather Service.
