The Storm Prediction Center has issued a discussion area that includes the Finger Lakes region for a potential watch issuance in the next couple of hours.
This will most likely be a severe thunderstorm watch with a 60% chance of watch issuance.
The peak intensities listed for the storms within this area are for winds of 55-70 mph, hail up to 1.75″, and the potential for mainly EF0-EF1 (weak) tornadoes.
Damaging winds, as expected, will be the primary threat.
