Widespread rain will fall on Monday, but then it will be dry until a chance for thunderstorms on Thursday and showers on Friday. Temperatures will be held back by the rain on Monday, but will otherwise be close to the seasonal averages.
Monday
What: Rain
Widespread rain will fall today with some areas seeing over an inch of rainfall. The steadiest and heaviest rain will be during the morning and first half of the afternoon. The rain will taper to a few scattered showers later in the afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the low 60s and even upper 50s while it is rainy, but should make it to the mid 60s after the rain (mostly) ends in the later afternoon. Some areas of fog could form tonight with lows in the mid 50s.
Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds
Clouds may be thick to start Tuesday and some fog or drizzle may even be possible. Over the course of the morning, sunshine should start to erode some of the cloud cover away. The afternoon should be a mix of sun and fair weather clouds with no precipitation expected. Winds will be steady from the northwest around 10 mph, but afternoon highs will reach the low and mid 70s. Skies will become clear Tuesday night with lows in the mid 50s.
Wednesday
What: More sun than clouds.
Wednesday will have plenty of sunshine and just a few clouds mixing in. No rain is expected. Northwest winds will remain, but will be lighter than on Tuesday. Afternoon highs should make it into the mid 70s, with most areas a degree or two warmer than on Tuesday. Nighttime temperatures will fall back into the 50s again.
Thursday
What: Thunderstorms possible
Scattered showers and thunderstorms look possible on Thursday. While the winds throughout the different layers of the atmosphere do not look as dramatic and powerful as last Thursday, there does appear to be enough for storms to work with that the chances for some stronger storms will need to be watched for over the coming days. Stay tuned.
Friday
What: Rain showers
Scattered rain showers are expected in the wake of Thursday’s weather system. This should not be a widespread, steady rain like today. Temperatures will start to nudge upward with most areas reaching the upper 70s.
Weekend Weather
What: A few rain showers
Both Saturday and Sunday are showing low chances for a few scattered showers, but the details are still uncertain this far in advance. Most areas will probably be dry most of the time, and some areas will likely get through the weekend without any rain. Temperatures will continue to creep upward with upper 70s to near 80 degrees on Saturday, and highs around 80 degrees on Sunday.
Further Out
The highest chance for rain next week looks to be toward the middle or end of the week, though there is no single defined time the models are favoring yet. Temperatures generally look warm and seasonable with highs in the 75-85 degree range most days, though some spikes or dips outside of this may be possible depending on how the parade of weather systems lines up. This overall pattern will continue through the 4th of July weekend and into the first full week of July.
