Much of this week will have quiet weather and sunshine. The best chance for rain will come late Wednesday, possibly after sunset, into Thursday. Temperatures will generally remain in the low half of the 70s, except on Wednesday when southerly winds boost temperatures to near 80 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will be split between the 50s and low 60s.

Monday
What: Sun and clouds.
Labor Day looks sunny and dry with light northerly winds turning calm late. Afternoon highs will be in the low and mid 70s with low humidity. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with a few passing thin cirrus clouds. Overnight lows will be in the low and mid 50s with some areas of fog.
Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds.
Tuesday will be dry with occasional thin clouds gradually becoming thicker as the day goes on. By the mid and late afternoon, sunshine may mostly be filtered behind these clouds, but not totally blocked. Winds will be nearly calm throughout the day with highs mainly in the mid 70s. Humidity will remain low. A light south wind will develop Tuesday night with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will be in the low 60s.
Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds. Some late showers or storms.
Our next weather maker will approach the area on Wednesday, spreading some showers and storms into the area late in the day. It remains uncertain whether these will arrive before or after sunset, with the evening currently the more favored scenario. Severe weather is not expected with any thunderstorms. South and southwest winds will increase to 10-15 mph, leading to afternoon highs around 80 degrees. Dewpoints will increase to the mid 60s, making it feel a touch humid. Nighttime temperatures will be in the mid 60s.
Thursday
What: Scattered showers.
Scattered showers are possible on Thursday as the weather system works through the area. This does not look to be an all day rain, and some areas may have a chance at staying dry throughout the day. Winds will turn to the west around 10 mph, leading to afternoon highs in the lower half of the 70s. Nighttime temperatures will return to the 50s with areas of fog.
Friday
What: Sun and clouds. A few early showers.
Any rain on Friday appears to be limited to areas southeast of Lake Ontario as some morning lake effect develops. This should dry up by midday, and most of the region will end up dry throughout the day. Light northwest winds will turn calm late in the day. Highs will be in the low 70s and overnight lows ranging through the 50s with areas of fog.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds.
Saturday looks quiet and sunny as high pressure passes through. Look for highs around the mid 70s with low humidity and south winds up to 10 mph. Some clouds may increase Saturday night with lows in the low 60s.
Sunday
What: Perhaps a few showers.
A small, quick moving system may pass through on Sunday with a few showers. Heavy or steady rainfall is not expected at this time, and some areas may stay dry. Highs will be in the mid 70s.
Next Week
The weather models show a large range in possible temperature and precipitation patterns early next week. There is a chance for a day or two to turn out rather warm, which in turn could lead to some thunderstorms. The latter half of the week and next weekend look cooler and showery with multiple days with highs in the 60s possible.
