Clouds will gradually increase and thicken today, but filtered sunshine will remain well into the afternoon. A cold front will bring some showers and storms tomorrow, mainly in the late afternoon and evening hours. A similar set up is expected sometime Sunday, with dry weather filling out the remaining days of the week and weekend.

Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds.
Tuesday will be dry with occasional thin clouds gradually becoming thicker as the day goes on. By the mid and late afternoon, sunshine may mostly be filtered behind these clouds, but not totally blocked. Winds will be nearly calm throughout the day with highs mainly in the mid 70s. Humidity will remain low. A light south wind will develop Tuesday night with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will be in the low 60s.
Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds. Some late showers or storms.
Our next weather maker will approach the area on Wednesday. South and southwest winds will increase to 10-15 mph, pushing afternoon highs to the low 80s, even with plenty of cloud cover. Dewpoints will increase to the mid 60s, making it feel a touch humid.
There may be a couple of stray showers around during the morning hours. Most of the precipitation will then head north of the region for the afternoon. After 5 PM, a few isolated thunderstorms may pop up across the area. At the same time, a line of storms will drop southeast into the area. This line will continue to move through into the early and mid-evening hours before exiting the region. Severe weather is generally not expected, but an isolated strong wind gust here or there will be possible.
Nighttime temperatures will be in the mid and upper 60s with cloud cover and perhaps a stray shower lingering overnight.
Thursday
What: Mostly cloudy.
Thursday is looking mostly, if not totally dry. The only small chance for a stray shower will come early in the morning. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy, though sun will be more likely later in the day than earlier on. Winds will turn to the west around or slightly over 5 mph, leading to afternoon highs in the mid and locally low 70s. Nighttime temperatures will return to the 50s with areas of fog.
Friday
What: Sun and clouds.
A stray shower early in the day cannot be ruled out over the northeastern Finger Lakes, but even there, most areas should be dry. Skies will be a typical mix of sun and clouds. Light northwest winds will turn calm late in the day. Highs will be around 70 degrees and overnight lows will range through the lower half of the 50s with areas of fog.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds.
Saturday looks quiet and sunny as high pressure passes through. Look for highs around the mid and upper 70s with low humidity and south winds up to 10 mph. Some clouds may increase Saturday night with lows in the mid 60s.
Sunday
What: Showers and storms
AÂ quick moving system will pass through on Sunday with scattered showers and storms. This will probably not be an all day event, but the timing is uncertain. Highs will be in the upper 70s.
Monday
What: Sun and clouds.
Monday should be dry on the other side of Sunday’s system. Look for highs in the mid 70s with low humidity and a light northwest wind.
Next Week
Another weather system is expected toward the middle of next week, possibly preceded by a jump in temperatures. It should then turn cooler, or maybe even a bit chilly, late in the week and next weekend.
