The intense line of rain and wind that moved across the southeastern part of the Finger Lakes this morning has weakened and is departing the region.

Much of I-81 between Syracuse and Binghamton will be impacted by this line between 11-11:30, but the line has lost some of its punch. Still, a brief burst of heavy rain and some gusty winds of 20-30mph are likely as the line continues northeast.

The National Weather Service continues to issue Special Weather Statements for this line.

This band of rain should be in the Syracuse area between 11:15-11:30.

Additional rain continues to move from the southwest behind this line. While the rain may taper or even stop at times, at other times it may come down heavy.

This should continue throughout the afternoon hours before ending from west to east late this afternoon and this evening.
