A warm front pushing through the Finger Lakes early this morning will result in a mild day for most of the region. In the eastern Finger Lakes, the cold air will try to hold on longer, so high temperatures will be in the mid and maybe upper 40s. Further west, towards Geneva and Penn Yan, 50º is possible while Rochester and Batavia should reach into the 50s.
It will be mostly cloudy today and stray shower here and there cannot be ruled out. There will be a better chance for showers tonight as the cold front slowly slides through.
Temperatures tomorrow morning will be in the mid and upper 30s and should have very little upward movement from there. By the afternoon, many places will have actually cooled off a few more degrees.
Bitter cold air flooding the northern Plains and Midwest today will skirt to our north, sparing us another outbreak of cold and snow. Instead, temperatures will mostly be in the 30s this week with some up and down fluctuations.
As a side note, the last day of November marks the official end of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. 2014 was a quiet year, with a below average number of storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes. Even better was that the majority of these systems stayed out at sea and impacted few people for the most part.
