A developing storm system is lifting north through the Ohio Valley this morning. Over the next 12-24 hours, this system should intensify quite a bit.For the most part though, this system should not have a huge impact on our area.
Showers will be on and off today as we sit on the western edge of a belt of moisture pumping north from the Gulf of Mexico. Most of the rain will be to our east, but most of us should see some additional rain showers at some point today.
Temperatures will slowly climb into the upper 40s and low 50s today, but will rise even more after sunset as the cold front approaches. Overnight, temperatures could reach the upper 50s for many locations before quickly dropping back into the upper 30s by Christmas morning.
The winds will pick up this evening as well. The strongest winds will be near Lake Erie, but some gusts over 30mph are possible across most of the region- just strong enough to warrant a thorough checking of the Christmas decorations to make sure they are secure.
Christmas Day will be cooler, with highs around 40º and just a small chance of a shower or flurry. The winds will slowly lesson late in the day, but won’t really calm down until Friday.
