Friday, March 24 Evening Weather Forecast Update- Audio Transcript

This is Finger Lakes Weather meteorologist Drew Montreuil with your Friday evening weather forecast update for March 24, 2017.

The rain and ice from this morning are long gone as the front responsible for the precipitation has pushed to the north of the Finger Lakes. In its wake, southwest winds over the western Finger Lakes have pushed temperatures into the 50s and 60s, while southeast winds have kept eastern regions cloudy and cool in the 40s.

The whole region will cool back down as the front sags back to the south tonight. Rain will again develop, possibly as early as 8 or 9 this evening, with showers continuing through the night and most of Saturday. Temperatures will fall back into the mid 30s tonight and will remain steady throughout Saturday. At this time, no additional ice is expected.

The front will head back north on Sunday, setting up a temperature profile across the Finger Lakes that is similar to what has set up this afternoon. Only a couple of stray showers should be expected.

Have a wonderful evening and a great weekend!
