Sunny, Warm Pattern Dominates
High pressure centered off the East Coast will bring another warm day to the Finger Lakes.
There should be plenty of sunshine once again today, though some thin clouds ahead of a dissipating front will drift through.
These clouds will not completely block out the sun and no precipitation will fall. South winds will continue at 5-10 mph, possibly turning to the southwest at times.
Temperatures should get above 60 degrees for the entire region, and a few places in the typically warmer northern Finger Lakes may reach 70 degrees. Most locations will end up in the mid and upper 60s.
Thin clouds and south winds will continue into the nighttime hours with the clouds departing after midnight. Like last night, most areas should drop into the mid and upper 40s or low 50s overnight.
There is no change expected for Friday, the weekend, or early next week.
Sunshine will be abundant with the occasional batch of thin clouds. Winds will remain light and should even become mostly calm over the weekend. Temperatures will continue to warm, with daily highs ranging from the mid 60s to the low 70s.
Rain is not expected back in our area until later Wednesday next week. The cold front that moves in will be a pattern changing front, ushering in temperatures that are closer to average and more unsettled weather.
Since there is so little to say about the actual weather, tomorrow’s post will be a recap of the ongoing drought and a review of the weekend weather forecast.
Important Notice
Please consider supporting Finger Lakes Weather’s 2020 Fall Fund Drive with a small monthly donation or small increase to your existing pledge.
This is the first organized Fund Drive in over 19 months and is necessary to keep Finger Lakes Weather operating and growing in the face of lost income due to COVID and planned advancements in user experience, including a soon to be released mobile app.
So far, the Fund Drive is only at 17% of its goal! Without additional support, it will be difficult to continue investing in improvements to Finger Lakes Weather, and even maintaining the status quo could be in jeopardy as reserve funds get used up.
