The Week Ahead

Happy New Year to you! Here is a quick look at the weather coming our way this week.

After some light snow overnight, today will be quiet and cloudy. Sunshine will finally make an appearance in our region tomorrow, especially in the afternoon.

Clouds will roll back in Wednesday, with some snow Wednesday night into Thursday along a cold front. Accumulations should be under an inch. Some sun may come back out by late Thursday afternoon and into Friday.

Temperatures this week will be a bit closer to average than we have seen recently with highs mainly in the 30s and lows sticking to the 20s.

I have been tracking the potential for a coastal system next weekend, especially Saturday night into Sunday. The models are very mixed on what we may see here in the Finger Lakes, ranging from a complete miss to a decent dump of snow.

Be wary of weather hype in the coming days until this system becomes clearer. Right now, we have a slightly higher chance of little to no snow than we do of a moderate to heavy snowfall. Stay tuned.

I hope the entire holiday season has been full of joy, good health, and memorable times. Onward into 2024 — a whole new year of weather wonders awaits!

I will be back on my normal 8 AM weekday morning blog post schedule beginning tomorrow morning.
