Warm Temperatures
A warm front moved through the region last night, opening us up to another push of very warm air.
There are a few stray showers over the eastern FLX very early this morning. These will push off to the northeast, and any associated cloud cover will be close behind.
Mostly clear skies will spread across the area in their wake this morning. Skies will remain sunny this afternoon, though occasional clouds will mix in.
Steady south winds around 10 mph will ensure warm air is firmly entrenched in the area. Highs this afternoon will be in the low and mid 70s, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few upper 70s as well, particularly in urban settings.
Wind speeds will increase this evening and clouds will start to build in after midnight. It will be very warm with overnight lows mainly in the low and mid 60s.
Scattered rain showers ahead of a cold front will pass through Wednesday morning. Rain amounts will be minimal and a few areas may not see any rain.
Additional stray showers will be possible throughout the day, but will be much harder to come by.
Winds will gradually turn clockwise, ending the day from the northwest behind the cold front. Temperatures should still end up around 70 degrees, peaking in the midday or early afternoon.
Wednesday night will be cooler, but not fully cold, with most areas only dropping to the mid 40s. Clouds and the occasional spit of rain will continue to be possible. Winds will be lighter.
Not Too Chilly
Thursday will start off with lingering clouds and a few showers, especially southeast of Lake Ontario. The afternoon should see an increase in sunshine.
A steady northwest wind will persist on Thursday but will not be too blustery. Afternoon highs will be held to the mid 50s with a few upper 50s, especially in the Southern Tier.
Clear skies and light winds Thursday night will allow temperatures to fall, but most places are expected to stay above freezing with mainly mid and upper 30s.
Winds will be from the southwest to start Friday, though they will end up back to the northwest before the day is done.
Skies will be mixed with highs reaching the upper 50s. Nighttime temperatures will dip back down into the mid 30s as skies clear once again.
Saturday looks mostly sunny with highs in the low and mid 50s. Sunday will bounce back to the upper 50s with increasing clouds and a few late rain showers. Morning lows will be in the upper 30s.
Monday will also have a few rain showers, this time in the morning. Most of the rain from this system will fall overnight Sunday night, helping keep temperatures in the upper 40s. Highs Monday will be in the upper 50s.
Temperatures will make a run at the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday. The end of next week looks unsettled, with at least a chance for some meaningful rainfall. Temperatures should turn chilly by the weekend.
