Cold Fronts
A pair of cold fronts, one today and another Thursday, will bring a couple more chances for rain this week and a brief cool down.
Clouds are plentiful this morning out ahead of the first cold front. These clouds will generally be with us for most of the day, though some occasional breaks of sun will be possible here and there.
The precipitation associated with the front today is still a bit questionable, but most models are meager in their expectations.
Still, a stray shower or storm will be possible at almost any time today, but especially during the mid to late afternoon hours. There is a small chance for activity to become a bit more widespread, particularly across the southeastern quadrant of the region.
Many areas will probably get through the day with very little to no rainfall.
The atmosphere is warm and muggy from the start today, but the clouds and incoming front will put a cap on how warm it will be. Many areas will see mid 80s, with low 80s in higher elevations.
The front will clear the area late, allowing dewpoints to drop into the 60s with gradually clearing skies this evening. Overnight lows will be in the low and mid 60s.
Wednesday looks dry and quiet, with comfortable humidity levels and highs in the low 80s. Only some occasional small fair weather clouds or thin clouds are expected.
The second front will arrive Thursday. The morning has a better chance for rain than the afternoon with a few thunderstorms possible.
Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s after starting the day in the low 60s.

4th of July Holiday Weather
The coolest upcoming day will be Independence Day itself on Friday. Morning lows will be down into the mid and upper 50s and highs will top out in the mid 70s.
It will be a quiet day with a mix of sun and clouds and low humidity. Northwest winds may be a touch breezy in the afternoon coming in around 10 mph. Those winds should die off by evening with clear skies.
A light southerly flow will set up on Saturday, boosting temperatures into the mid 80s.
It should stay dry with a mix of sun and clouds.
Sunday, too, looks dry with sun and clouds. Temperatures will continue to climb as south and southwest winds become a bit better established. Many places will push toward or slightly above 90 degrees.
Showers and storms will return on Monday with the next cold front. It is far too early to tell the specifics. Temperatures should be well into the 80s ahead of the front.
An unsettled weather pattern looks likely next week with more chances for rain than this week. Temperatures will gradually retreat with 70s favored for highs during the second half of the week.
