Behind the Front
A cold front moved into the Finger Lakes region last night and has since stalled out over Central New York.
The front will slowly creep eastward as the day goes on, helping to keep our skies cloudy but mostly dry.
Rain today will be limited to a few isolated spits here and there. Most of this will not even be enough to wet the pavement, and the majority of the region will stay completely dry.
The morning hours are the most likely time to see a few of these stray spits of rain.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy into the afternoon, with some late day sun starting to break through.
Light northwest winds will keep temperatures at bay, with highs mainly in the upper half of the 70s and a few pockets near 80 degrees.
Skies will clear out more substantially after sunset with lows dropping into the low 60s.
Wednesday will feature a mix of sun and clouds with no rain expected. Winds will be light and variable.
Afternoon highs will top out slightly above 80 degrees for most areas. Overnight lows will be in the mid 60s.
A warm front will approach the area Wednesday night, possibly triggering a few showers, especially in the northwestern Finger Lakes. This will then be followed by scattered showers and storms on Thursday, with highs again in the low 80s.

Warm Weekend Weather
Temperatures will make a more substantial rise into the weekend.
Friday will be dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs should make it into the mid 80s, though some pockets of upper 80s are likely.
Saturday may also turn out to be a dry day. Temperatures will continue to rise, with upper 80s in most areas and a few places hitting 90 degrees.
A cold front will eventually move through, with Sunday the primary target at this point. Showers and storms will be likely when the front moves through, but the details are uncertain this far out.
Behind the front, temperatures will drop back to the lower 80s by Monday with sunny skies.
Next week should bring more of the same with highs generally sticking to the 80s but possibly making a run at 90 degrees during the second half of the week.
That will be followed by another cold front with some showers and storms. The rest of the week looks relatively quiet otherwise.
