Mid-Week Weather Forecast
Hot but not very humid weather will continue today with temperatures reaching their high point for the current stretch of warm weather.
Many areas will be at or above 90 degrees today, with just the typically cooler higher elevations sticking to the mid and upper 80s.
The hottest temperatures will be across the northern counties, especially along and in the vicinity of I-90. Low and mid 90s will be commonplace in these areas.
Dewpoints will be a little higher than yesterday, but still on the low side in the low to mid 60s. Heat index values will be near or just slightly above the actual temperature.
Sunshine will mix with fair-weather clouds during the latter half of the morning and through the afternoon. A few stray showers late in the afternoon or early this evening cannot be ruled out. Most areas will remain dry, and those that do see rain should not see long lasting or significant rainfall.
Humidity will increase late in the day and overnight, helping keep overnight lows in the upper 60s and low 70s. A few more stray showers will be possible, especially toward sunrise.
Dewpoints will then jump into the 70s Wednesday morning, making it feel very humid. Afternoon highs will only make it to the mid 80s, but it very well may feel more uncomfortable tomorrow than today.
A cold front will move through the region later in the day. Showers and storms will be possible ahead of the front.
The timing of the storms is still a bit uncertain, as there may be some morning activity left over from the Upper Great Lakes overnight. If these hold together, they may interrupt the possibility for storms later in the day, keeping more of the rain during the morning.
I think this is less likely than seeing a few morning scattered showers with more widespread activity coming later in the afternoon and into the early evening.
Severe weather is not expected as a whole, though any time the atmosphere has a lot of moisture and strong trigger moving through, an isolated stronger storm cannot be ruled out.
Rainfall will be highly variable, with a few pockets seeing hardly anything, while other pockets see over an inch.
A few showers may linger into Thursday morning before dry air works in.

Another Mostly Dry Stretch
Once dry air arrives on Thursday, the rain chances will be low for another chunk of time.
Temperatures on Thursday will start out in the mid 60s with highs in the low 80s. Dewpoints will drop again, removing the muggy feeling to the air.
Friday will start out with lows ranging from the mid 50s to around 60 degrees. Afternoon highs will rebound to the mid 80s. Skies will be a mix of sun and small fair-weather clouds. No rain is expected.
The temperature will rise again on Saturday, reaching another peak. Highs will generally be between 85-90 degrees, though a few isolated warm pockets could exceed 90. Dewpoints will remain comfortably low, in the same general range as they have been the last few days.
Another front will move through on Sunday, though the chances for rain with this front appear to be less robust compared to tomorrow’s front. Still, a few showers and storms are possible, so those with outdoor plans should continue to monitor the forecast.
Temperatures will be knocked back to the low 80s on Monday with sun and clouds.
Rain chances look relatively low next week as well. Temperatures will be cooler, with highs mainly in the 70s and overnight lows in the 50s.

Hi Drew! Do you know whether tonight (Tuesday) will be clear skies from midnight to 1 a.m.? We went out and saw many of the Perseids last night, but would go out again if it is going to be clear. Wasn’t sure what the timing and effect of the showers might be for the Finger Lakes.
