Rain showers will increase through the morning and transition to a steady afternoon and early evening rain with some heavier downpours. Rainfall amounts will be highest in the Southern Tier where an inch may fall while northern areas see closer to a half inch.

Early Morning (3-7 AM)

Mostly cloudy.

A few rain showers in the Southern Tier.

Southeast winds under 5 mph.

Temperatures mainly in the mid 30s and upper 30s, except for north of I-90 and in the I-81 Corridor, where low 30s will be more common.

Morning (7-11 AM)

Mostly cloudy. Perhaps some early filtered sun in the north.

Scattered rain showers across the southern half of the region.

Light and variable to nearly calm winds.

Temperatures rising to around or over 40 degrees across the south with mid 30s to the north.

Midday (11 AM-1 PM)

Overcast.

Scattered rain showers everywhere.

Light and variable to nearly calm winds.

Most areas rising to 40-45 degrees, except Monroe county which will remain in the mid and upper 30s.

Afternoon (1-4 PM)

Overcast.

Rain showers transitioning to steady rain with a few heavier downpours.

Generally easterly winds up to 5 mph.

Temperatures mainly steady at midday levels.

Late Afternoon (4-6 PM)

Overcast. Possibly some fog.

Steady rain with embedded downpours. Maybe some mixed precipitation around or west of Rochester.

Generally easterly winds 5-10 mph.

Temperatures dropping a degree or two.

Evening (6-10 PM)

Overcast. Possibly some fog.

Steady rain continues, tapering to showers late. Still a chance for some mixed precipitation near and west of Rochester.

Southeast winds around 10 mph.

Temperatures steady or losing another degree or two: mainly around or just above 40 degrees, but mid and upper 30s near Lake Ontario and creeping back into eastern Cortland and Onondaga counties.

Overnight (11 PM-3 AM)

Overcast. Possibly some fog.

Lingering scattered rain showers. Less chance for ice.

Southeast winds around 10 mph.

Temperatures continue to change little.
