Warm, gusty winds ahead of a cold front will push temperatures toward or above 70 degrees by early Tuesday afternoon. As the cold front inches closer, showers and thunderstorms will increase during the afternoon, becoming numerous in the late afternoon. A couple storms could be strong. Thunderstorms will transition to areas of rain Tuesday night as temperatures begin to drop, reaching the 40s overnight.

Early Morning (3-7 AM)

Partly to mostly cloudy.

A few scattered showers. Maybe a couple rumbles of thunder.

Southwest winds 10-15 mph.

Temperatures in the mid and upper 50s.

Morning (7-11 AM)

Sun and a few clouds.

Nothing more than a stray shower. Most areas stay dry.

Southwest winds around 15 mph. Wind gusts to 35 mph.

Temperatures rising to the mid and upper 60s.

Midday (11 AM-1 PM)

Sun and clouds.

Nothing more than a stray shower. Most areas stay dry.

Southwest winds 15-20 mph. Wind gusts to 35 mph.

Temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Afternoon (1-5 PM)

Increasing clouds.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developing and increasing. A few storms could become strong with gusty winds.

Southwest winds 10-15 mph. Wind gusts to 35 mph.

Temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s, but dropping late in the northwest.

Late Afternoon (5-7 PM)

Mostly cloudy.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially over the southeastern half of the region. A few storms could become strong with gusty winds.

Southwest winds around 10 mph.

Temperatures dropping from northwest to southeast, reaching the low 50s along Lake Ontario but remaining in the upper 60s in the Southern Tier.

Evening (7-10 PM)

Cloudy.

Areas of rain. A few thundery downpours early.

Winds becoming light and variable.

Temperatures dropping to the upper 40s and low 50s.

Overnight (11 PM-3 AM)

Cloudy.

Areas of rain.

Light and variable winds.

Temperatures in the mid and upper 40s.
