While there will be some stray showers and storms the next few days, the activity will remain scattered enough that some areas may see little to no rain. Temperatures and humidity levels will climb for Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a dip in temperatures Friday and Saturday. Humidity levels will be lowest Saturday and Sunday. A typical summertime weather pattern will persist next week as well.

Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds. A few late showers.
Today looks mostly quiet with sun and fair weather clouds. A few late showers will pop up over the southwestern Finger Lakes late in the afternoon and track east across the southern areas into the early evening. These showers will be isolated and may not even be heavy enough to totally wet the pavement.
Temperatures will warm into the mid 80s for most areas. Dewpoints will be in the mid 60s, so it will feel a bit muggy. Winds will be from the south around 5 mph. Nighttime skies, outside of those stray early showers, will be mostly clear, though some thin clouds may drift through from time to time. Lows will be in the mid and upper 60s.
Thursday
What: Maybe a few afternoon storms.
Most areas will probably be dry on Thursday with the typical summertime mix of sun and clouds. During the later afternoon, a few storm cells may pop up. These should remain scattered, though there is some uncertainty if they will even fire up at all. Temperatures will remain in the mid 80s with dewpoints in the upper 60s. Winds will be southwest 5-10 mph. Thursday night will be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees.
Friday
What: Some rain showers
A cold front will move through on Friday, mostly likely during the early to mid morning hours. There may be a few showers along the front, with a few more popping up in the afternoon.
Winds will be from the northwest, then north, with speeds around 10 mph. Temperatures will be knocked back to the upper 70s, though it will still be rather muggy until dewpoints start to retreat some late in the day.
Friday night should be cloudy with a few spits of rain. Lows will be in the low and mid 60s.
Saturday
What: A few early showers.
Saturday morning will have some scattered rain showers, though how many and how long they will last remains questionable. Dry conditions and clearing skies should take over during the afternoon. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s with a low humidity. Winds will be out of the north around 10 mph.
Saturday night will be clear with lows mainly in the 50s.
One thing to watch for, however, will be a chance for some wildfire smoke from Canada to drift down into our area on the northerly winds. This remains uncertain.
Sunday
What: Sunny, a few clouds.
High pressure will pass overhead on Sunday, keeping winds light and variable. Sunshine will be abundant with just some thin clouds and a few fair weather clouds. Temperatures will return to the low 80s, but humidity will remain comfortably low. Sunday night will have some thin clouds with lows in the low 60s.
Any smoke that blows in on Saturday could be forced closer to the surface by the high pressure overhead. Those sensitive to air quality issues should keep an eye on the forecast.
Monday
What: Maybe a shower or storm.
Monday’s weather is a bit uncertain with a chance for a few showers or storms to pop up. Temperatures will make it into the mid 80s with humidity increasing. Winds will be from the west and southwest at 10-15 mph.
Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds.
Warm, dry weather is expected on Tuesday with highs pushing at least into the mid and locally upper 80s. Humidity will be moderate.
Rest of Next Week
Much of the remainder of next week looks sunny and dry, though a few stray showers cannot be ruled out here or there. Temperatures will remain warm on Wednesday, then may dip a bit for the late week period.
