Another strong low pressure system will bring a chance for scattered severe thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon. A few lingering showers will be possible on Wednesday, but the rest of the week looks sunny and dry with low humidity.

Monday
What: Sun and a few clouds
Monday will start the week off with sunshine and mild temperatures topping out in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Humidity values will be very low with dewpoints in the lower half of the 50s. Wildfire smoke is not present or expected, so air quality will remain in good condition as well. Winds will be light from the south around 5 mph, increasing to around 10 mph overnight. Some thin clouds will also build in tonight. The winds and clouds will hold nighttime temperatures to the mid 60s.
Tuesday
What: Scattered severe thunderstorms
Another round of severe weather is likely on Tuesday as a strong low pressure system passes by to our north. As usual, there are several factors that support severe weather, and several others that may limit it. This will most likely result in some parts of the region seeing intense thunderstorms while other parts do not.
Damaging winds will be the primary threat, but the environment will also be at least somewhat conducive to rotating supercells, so there is some chance for tornadic activity. Hail is a lesser threat. Isolated flooding may be possible after Saturday’s heavy rain, but Tuesday is less likely to have the repeated storms that Saturday had.
The timing of the storms is uncertain, but looks most likely in the mid-afternoon, possibly lingering into dinnertime. Additional showers are possible Tuesday morning, with a few lingering showers and non-severe storms Tuesday night.
Non-thunderstorm winds will be from the south around 15 mph. Afternoon highs will be in the mid and upper 70s with muggy dewpoints in the upper 60s. Nighttime temperatures will drop to the mid 60s.
Wednesday
What: A few showers
Wednesday will have a few scattered showers as the low pressure system pulls away from the region. The morning is more likely to be overcast than the afternoon. Rain amounts will be minimal and some areas may see very little to no rain. Winds will be from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Air quality is expected to remain good as the fires from Canada will have at least been reduced by the rain this weekend and from Tuesday’s system.
Temperatures Wednesday will be near or slightly above 70 degrees. Nighttime temperatures will drop into the 50s as skies begin to clear overnight.
Thursday
What: Sunny
Sunshine will be plentiful on Thursday. Highs will be in the mid 70s with very low dewpoints once again in the lower half of the 50s. The night sky should remain clear with overnight lows in the 50s. Winds will be light from the northwest during the day, then calm during the night.
Friday
What: Sunny
Friday will bring more of the same with sunny skies and low humidity. Temperatures will likely be a degree or two warmer than Thursday, but still mainly in the 70s. Winds will be very light from the south, or variable based on topography. South winds will become a bit better established Friday night, holding lows around 60 degrees.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds
Dry weather is expected to linger into Saturday with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures should reach or slightly exceed 80 degrees for most areas. Dewpoints will remain comfortable, but will rise slightly to the upper half of the 50s.
Sunday
What: Maybe a shower or storm
There may be a chance for a few showers or storms late Sunday, but this remains uncertain this far out. Temperatures will be warm in the low 80s with dewpoints creeping up into the low 60s.
Next Week
The main weather maker next week looks to be Monday into Tuesday. There will be a chance for some heavy rain, but the details are highly uncertain. Temperatures will take another dip behind this system, then warm slightly late in the week, meaning most days will end up in the 70s.
