Rain showers are likely today and will become more sporadic on Tuesday, accompanied by some cool temperatures. Wednesday will be a quiet day as warm air pushes back into the region, setting up a chance for thunderstorms on Thursday. After a few more showers Friday, the weekend looks dry and mild.

Monday
What: Scattered showers.
After a quiet morning with sun and clouds, rain showers will increase through the midday and afternoon hours. Most areas should see at least a little rain at some point today, and some areas may see multiple on and off showers. A couple rumbles of thunder may also be possible.
Winds will be from the southwest, increasing to 10-15 mph by the midday and afternoon hours. These will not be warming winds, as cool air will be wrapping around a stalled out low pressure system to our northwest. Highs will generally be in the mid 60s as a result, with both some warmer and cooler pockets.
Showers will diminish tonight, but a few spits of rain will still be possible. Some lake effect rain showers off Lake Ontario will be possible over the far northeastern Finger Lakes as winds shift to the west-northwest. This is typically the time of year we start to see lake induced precipitation entering back into our normal weather. Overnight lows will be in mid 50s with areas of fog.
Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds. A few showers.
Tuesday will also have rain showers, but they should be more widely spaced out than on Monday. Most of these showers will also be brief and light. Some areas will likely get through the day with little to no rainfall. Outside of the showers, the sun will be in and out of clouds. Areas of fog will be possible early in the morning.
Winds will be from the northwest at or slightly above 10 mph. Despite this, temperatures will creep up a little with most areas somewhere near 70 degrees. Skies will clear Tuesday night with lows ranging through the 50s.
Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds
Wednesday should be dry between weather systems with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will warm to the upper 70s with a south winds slowly increasing to 5-10 mph.
Thursday
What: Sun and clouds, then showers and storms.
Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with highs approaching 80 degrees. Humidity will bump up as well with dewpoints in the mid 60s. An incoming weather system will interact with the warm, moist environment to produce showers and thunderstorms. The timing of these is still a bit unclear, but the afternoon and evening are most favored. Conditions do not look overly favorable for severe weather, tough. South winds will be around 10 mph.
Friday
What: A few showers.
A few rain showers will likely persist into Friday as Thursday’s system departs. The speed at which this system moves along will determine if the showers are more widespread like Monday, or more sporadic like Tuesday. Temperatures will retreat to the mid 70s, but dewpoints may remain in the 60s. Winds will be light and variable early, then turning to the northwest up to 10 mph.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds.
A stray shower on Saturday cannot be totally ruled out at this point, but anything that falls should be brief and isolated. For most, if not all of the area, it will just be a dry day with a mix of sun and clouds. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 70s, dewpoints will fall back to the 50s, and winds will light from the north around 5 mph.
Sunday
What: Sun and clouds.
Dry weather should persist into Sunday with the typical mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures and dewpoints will nudge upward to the upper 70s and low 60s respectively. Winds will be very light and from the south.
Next Week
There is not much consistency showing on the models for next week’s weather, though the second half of the week looks to have a higher chance for rain than the first half. Temperatures will continue to warm early in the week with a day or two of 80s a possibility. Assuming the weather turns more unsettled later in the week, temperatures would likely dip back into the 70s.
