A few rain showers will dot the region today, especially in the later morning and early afternoon over the eastern Finger Lakes. A dry, mild day is ahead for Wednesday, followed by some showers and storms Thursday. A mainly quiet weekend awaits, followed by some warmer, muggier, and potentially unsettled conditions next week.

Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds. A few showers.
Some scattered lake effect rain showers exist east-southeast of Lake Ontario early this morning. Winds will turn more northwesterly over the course of the morning, bringing showers further south into the Finger Lakes region. These will linger into the first half of the afternoon, then dissipate as temperatures warm to near or above 70 degrees for most areas. Any rain that falls will not amount to much and individual showers should be brief. Many areas, especially west of Seneca Lake, will see little to no rain. Skies will clear tonight with lows ranging through the 50s. Areas of patchy fog will be possible, especially in the typical valley locations.
Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds
Wednesday should be dry between weather systems with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures will warm to the upper 70s with a south winds slowly increasing to 5-10 mph. Some thin clouds will be possible Wednesday night with lows in the low 60s thanks to south winds persisting at up to 10 mph.
Thursday
What: Sun and clouds, then showers and storms.
Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with highs approaching 80 degrees. Humidity will bump up as well with dewpoints in the mid 60s. An incoming weather system will interact with the warm, moist environment to produce showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the mid to late afternoon. While conditions are unfavorable for widespread severe weather, there may still be some isolated strong wind gusts or small hail. South and southwest winds will be around or slightly over 10 mph. A few showers will be possible Thursday night with lows around 60 degrees.
Friday
What: A few showers.
A few rain showers will likely persist into Friday morning as Thursday’s system departs. The afternoon will probably see an increase in sunshine. Temperatures will retreat to the mid 70s, but dewpoints may remain in the 60s. Winds will be light and variable early, then turning to the northwest around 5 mph. Friday night will be cool with lows in the low and mid 50s and valley fog.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds.
A stray shower on Saturday cannot be totally ruled out, but anything that falls should be brief and isolated. For most, if not all of the area, it will just be a dry day with a mix of sun and clouds. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 70s, dewpoints will fall back to the 50s, and winds will light from the north around 5 mph. Overnight lows will be in the mid 50s.
Sunday
What: Sun and clouds.
Dry weather will persist into Sunday with the typical mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures and dewpoints will nudge upward to the upper 70s and low 60s respectively. Winds will be very light and from the south.
Monday
What: Sun and clouds
Monday should also be dry, though there is a bit more uncertainty still at play with an incoming weather system. South and southwest winds will be 5-10 mph, nudging temperatures to at least around if not above 80 degrees. Dewpoints will reach the mid 60s.
Next Week
Unsettled weather is likely for the middle of next week, but there is still a high degree of uncertainty about which days may see the most rain, and the nature of the precipitation. Temperatures will be warm and humidity muggy during this time. The overall pattern may not change much for the latter part of the week and into the weekend, though there should be a gradual reduction in rain, temperature, and humidity.
