Sunshine mixing with small clouds and a light south wind will boost temperatures up today. Showers and storms are likely on Thursday, especially over the eastern half of the region, where a couple stronger storms will also be possible. Temperatures will briefly return to the mid 70s before rising back into the low 80s by Sunday and into next week.

Wednesday
What: Sun and clouds
Today will be sunny and dry between weather systems. Thin cirrus clouds and small fair-weather clouds will mix with the sunshine, and there is some early valley fog across the south that will burn off this morning. Temperatures will warm to the upper 70s and low 80s with a south winds slowly increasing to 5-10 mph. Some thin clouds are expected tonight with lows in the mid 60s thanks to south winds persisting at up to 10 mph.
Thursday
What: Sun and clouds, then showers and storms.
Thursday will start off with a mix of sun and clouds and perhaps a stray morning shower. Southwest winds will be steady, pushing moist air into the region. As temperatures reach the upper 70s by early afternoon, dewpoints will be in the mid and locally upper 60s. Showers and storms will pop up over the area during the mid to late afternoon, organizing and strengthening as they drift eastward. Therefore, it is the eastern half of the region that has the highest chance for thunderstorms and isolated severe weather. Strong wind gusts will be the primary risk, though some small hail will also be possible.
Thunderstorms should dissipate as the sun begins to set with just a few overnight showers. Overnight lows will be in the low 60s.
Friday
What: A few showers.
A few rain showers will persist into Friday as slightly cooler air starts to work in behind Thursday’s weather system. The showers will be sporadic and brief, and not everyone will see rain. Outside of the shower, there should be some sun poking out between clouds, especially in the afternoon. Temperatures will top out in the mid 70s, with dewpoints in the low and mid 60s. Winds will be from the north-northwest at 5 to 10 mph. Friday night will be cool with lows in the low and mid 50s and valley fog.
Saturday
What: Sun and clouds.
Saturday should be a dry day with a mix of sun and clouds. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 70s, dewpoints will fall back to the 50s, and winds will variable and light with speeds around 5 mph. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s.
Sunday
What: Sun and clouds.
Dry weather will persist into Sunday with the typical mix of sun and clouds. Light south and southwest winds will push highs into the low 80s with dewpoints around 60 degrees. There is a small chance for a shower during the nighttime hours with overnight lows in the mid 60s.
Monday
What: Sun and clouds
Monday will be warm with highs at least in the low 80s, and slightly muggy with dewpoints in the mid 60s. Winds will be light and variable. Dry weather is expected, but slightly uncertain pending where the boundary between the anticipated warmer air and cooler air to the north sets up. There is a chance for a couple showers or storms if the warm air does not make it as far north as currently expected.
Tuesday
What: Sun and clouds. A few showers or storms.
Tuesday’s weather is still quite uncertain, but it should be warm and a bit muggy. This will, at a minimum, produce an environment supportive of a few pop up showers or storms. There is a chance a small weather system may pass through, which would increase the rain chances.
Late Next Week
The second half of next week will continue to be warm, a bit muggy, and potentially unsettled. Overall, rain chances should increase later in the week, which should put a cap on how warm it gets. But, if dry weather becomes more favored, it may stay quite warm or even get a bit hot.
